Shepherds Camp

Our History

Shepherds Camp began 50 years ago when Leo Spencer and Ron & Miriam Tenney had a vision of creating a place for children with special needs. The Tenneys and Leo Spencer, all parents of children with special needs, decided to start a camp program so children with developmental disabilities could have a place to explore, play, and be cared for in a Christian environment. A week of camp with 15 campers back in 1962 was the beginning of Shepherds Camp.

Today, Shepherds Camp offers eight weeks of programming with over 250 campers in attendance each year.
